I am in a group that each person makes One Card a Month (OCAM) and you send to a different recipient each month. It really is good fun and you get ideas from other cardmakers etc. Technique can be found at Technique Junkies
This is a double pocket card I made with Club Scrap papers – Refresh (green) and Be Still (yellow) Stamp – Stampin Up to send to my recipient in Florida this month.
I posed a question on a site about how to store your stickers etc..
Anyway I adapted it to make my own sticker holder! Easy peasy… And the fibres do not get tangled up as they are on the rings. I think it is a nice piece for the scraproom and finally I might remember I have stickers etc that I can use. I have heaps of letters and never think to use them!
I had just bought 2 cheap toilet roll holders. The one I worked with was white. This project takes about 5 minutes at the most.
Get your toilet roll holder, some ring holders, plastic file pages, some alcohol inks and some fibres and have fun. Cost about $4 all up with the holder and fibres and using some of your inks and the rings..
Here is the result of mine
Found another website today (2nd February) showing how to make your own version of a very expensive sticker holder. This version is very cheap and it has step by step instructions. Called Spinning Storage Rack made with lamp shade pieces. Amazing what you can make when you put your mind to it. This is next on my project list!
Sitting here, outside,on an absolutely beautiful summers day, in Adelaide listening to a CD. Sunshine, glass of wine, laptop, Australia Day long weekend, thinking YAY, no work tomorrow!!
Listening to this particular CD made me think, the older we get the less we change our music tastes. Well it applies to me. Don’t get me wrong there are current songs/music I love too, but the CD I am listening to is one that my husband made for me, not long after we met. He put together a compilation of songs that he knew I loved. Here we are almost ten years later and I can listen to this CD over and over again. I still love all those songs, that I loved 1o years ago. What do you think? Do you find that too?
Pork Rashers marinated – I did this once when scratching around the cupboard and freezer for something to eat and now it is a family favourite
Go to the supermarket, grab yourself some pork rashers (no, not spare ribs, just the cheap cut of pork rashers)
Cut them into bite size pieces, throw them in a bowl
Grab yourself some Fruit chutney or Tomato chutney ( Beerenberg is fantastic and SA owned). Tip the whole jar over the rashers and mix thoroughly
Mix, cover bowl with cling wrap and let marinade for a few hours or all day if you wish. Stir from time to time when you remember, throw on the BBQ or in the pan inside if you wish and cook until tender. The aroma is sensational!!
My husband and sister in law hate fatty meat, but absolutely love these marinated and this is a cheap meal that tastes fantastic!
Spuds – Everyone knows this one !
Wash your spuds, do not peel, throw them in a saucepan, boil until tender, then serve in a bowl for all to enjoy with lots of butter, if they so choose, have grated cheese, sour cream, whatever salad you choose for people to add to their potatoes.
Both of the above easy meals go together whether it be summer or winter, they are both delicious .
